Too much contemporary fiction seems purposefully to address small things in small ways. And yet why not try for the all-inclusive, the gripping, for the audacious?
People can talk about how much they care about you, but the small things like this, people taking time out of their day to come and support, it's amazing.
Sometimes I let some of the small things take over. It can be a simple thing, like a call going the wrong way, and it takes me all off.
There are simple, small things you can do that really will impact the space. Things like changing out your curtain panels to something that adds a fresh new feel. Or maybe a smart pattern. Also swapping out an area rug, throws and pillows can be done in no time, and really have a dramatic effect.
I always direct next to the camera and watch my actors, and so you can see the small things that you can't see on the small screen but you can definitely see on the big screen.
